What we’ve been checking out online this week:

Ireland’s draconian abortion laws were put under the spotlight at human rights court.

In the media, Andrew Jack for the Financial Times quotes IWHC President Adrienne Germain discussing the harmful effects of the Global Gag Rule, and Bitch magazine includes IWHC in their feminist charitable giving guide.

And here on Akimbo:

We posted two capital critiques, one negative (thumb down) and one positive (thumb up).

We followed up on our World AIDS Day post asking you to thank those who battle AIDS all year long by sharing some of the supportive and inspirational messages to our colleagues that have poured in from all over the globe.

We posted the first part of a  series on global AIDS issues by our new International Policy Program officer Alex Garita. Remaining installments of the series will be featured on RHRealityCheck throughout December.

Program Officer for Asia Khushbu Srivastava wrote about a new law in Indonesia that will help women gain better access to abortion.

And, last but not least, we posted a video documenting sex worker collectivization in rural India in honor of International Human Rights Day.
