Foluke Ojelabi-Ogunyemi

What actions are you taking to promote and protect the health and rights of women and young people worldwide?

I work as the community HIV/AIDS specialist in a non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention care and treatment. We are also involved in organizational systems strenghtening and mobilization of indigent women and children in hard to reach areas of Northern Nigeria.
I also belong to the Taking It Global internet forum for youths to blog and share ideas on how to be positive change agents.

What is your vision of lasting change for yourself and for the world's young people?

My vision of lasting change is complete eradication of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, especially as it affects young people. I would like to see a world where every young girl receives adequate education, knowledge about reproductive and sexual health which she can impact on herself and her children! I expect lasting change to be evidenced by food security and availability of safe water for drinking worldwide.

If you could tell world leaders one thing, what would it be?

I would tell world leaders that “It is when you give of yourself to make positive difference in the life of another man that you truly give and will be rewarded!”
