Since our founding in 1984, we have helped build and strengthen more than 75 grassroots organizations working in 20 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia and the Middle East.
We provide professional and financial support to help advocates bring about change in their home countries, regions, and globally.
Since our inception, we have given more than $19 million in grants.
Our strong connection to global policymakers and local activists enables us to shape policies that impact millions of people. Together, we have secured important government commitments to sexual and reproductive rights and health, including at the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, where 179 governments agreed for the first time ever to put women's rights and access to reproductive health at the center of population policy.
We are deeply committed to supporting the next generation of leaders and champions of the global women’s movement. Through our Advocacy in Practice (AiP) leadership development trainings, we have empowered more than 150 young activists to effectively advocate with their governments to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Since 2006, we have conducted 13 AiPs for young leaders from 54 countries.
